It is the life line of Russia...

From the underworld of Moscow to Pigalle, via Istambul... The adventures of of French and fresh businessman in the realm of mafia. Or how a country went from the apparent Stalinist order to the visible present anarchy (Makno is surely turning in his grave...).

Characters are exceptional, especially the godfather, a survivor of the Kolyma archipelago. Mikhalkov has created a Slavic madness which bestows a humorous ambiance to the whole movie. Really entertaining.
