A Story That Should Have Been Left Untold
The Untold Story: Vizconde Massacre II - May the Lord Be with Us is a film about the Vizconde massacre,a sensational case that involves the multiple homicide of members of the Vizconde family on June 30, 1991 at their residence in BF Homes, Parañaque City, Metro Manila,Philippines.Estrellita, 47, had suffered thirteen stab wounds; Carmela, 18, had suffered seventeen stab wounds and had been raped before she was killed; and Jennifer, 7, had nineteen stab wounds.Although the suspects weren't named in the movie,it somehow revealed that those responsible were drug addicts coming from rich and influential families which pertains to the rumored suspects at that time,Hubert Webb and his friends.The movie stars Vina Morales together with Tommy Abuel.It was written and directed by Carlo J. Caparas - his second movie about the Vizconde Massacre case.
Too bad that this movie was simply made out of place and the producers should have not made this film while the Vizconde Massacre case is on- going.The suspects have yet to be identified by the Immigration Bureau of the Philippines and most of the suspects were simply based on rumors and hearsay's as well as a star witness whose credibility has yet to be verified. Unfortunately,the movie capitalized on the sensational case's popularity despite facts were based on hearsay's and rumors which simply makes it a film of no credibility at all.
The producers and the cast involved simply never cared about credibility of the witnesses nor the case being on-going except to capitalize on the issue for the sake of money-making. Responsibility towards film-making must be exercised in country's entertainment industry since there are movies that should not be made especially when a case has been on-going and the facts revealed have yet to be verified and the evidence examined.
Looking back,the suspects of the case have been acquitted by the Philippines' Supreme Court which only makes this movie irrelevant and irresponsible.It was simply a story that should have been left untold until the end of the case.
